- Responsibility to deliver the procurement programme against the defined times and stage gates. Develop a project progress dashboard and use it to report the progress of the project accurately and timely. Delivery of an ambitious defined savings plan as per the procurement programme. Capture and report any supplementary cost down ideas and carry out an initial definition of these ideas.
Act as the project lead for the individual projects under the procurement programme.
Ensure that the Stage-Gate process is adhered to at all times during the programme.
Provide a regular communication pack to the wider business of progress made and obstacles found.
Identify knowledge gaps that exist in the business that may hinder the timely progress of the procurement programme.
Develop a repeatable project framework for any of the straightforward purchasing projects that can be used again in the future.
Work with Finance and MIS colleagues to verify spending and saving data.
Provide advice to wider business projects if they are likely to be overlapping.
Help and advise the local purchasing teams to identify better ways of working in the future
Support the development of the procurement function by creating standardised documentation for projects.
10+ years experience of working in purchasing roles for manufacturing businesses
Experienced in managing the Full life cycle of projects from end to end.
Strong influencer and negotiator with excellent planning skills.
Must be able to remain positive and have a tenacious streak.
Ability to vary the approach style and find the best solutions to given problems.
Essential to be results-focused and commercially aware
Proven track record of managing successful complex multi-site purchasing projects from start to finish
