QA Compliance Controller

Devon

£25,000-£27,000

The QA Compliance Controller reports to the Head of Technical and is responsible for the day to day running of the QA department with overriding objectives as follows:

  • Ensure all procedures are correctly implemented in line with the company QMS, including the monitoring of food safety systems
  • Drive continuous improvement in their area with the use of root cause analysis tools where appropriate

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee quality of production on a day-to-day basis
  • Protect & maintain the production of safe food products to maintain the company’s reputation for high standards of product quality
  • Responsible for hygiene standards on site including adherence to relevant schedules
  • Assist with the maintenance of the QMS System and quality procedures and policies
  • Monitoring & review of production paperwork to ensure high standards are consistently met
  • Support with third party audits where required
  • Management of the factory QA team Participation with internal audits in relevant areas including hygiene, GMP and QA Procedures
  • The logging of complaints, monthly & quarterly trending and bringing serious complaints to the attention of the Head of Technical where appropriate
  • Be an active member of the HACCP Team
  • Recording of site non-conformances, completion of RCA and monitor the implementation of corrective & preventative actions
  • Liaise with the Raw Materials Technologist on micro, product testing, raw materials

Person Profile

  • Ideally educated to a degree level in a food science, food technology or food safety related discipline
  • Previous experience in a quality/food technology role
  • Experience of working in a BRC accredited manufacturing facility
  • Detailed understanding and proven capability in the areas of HACCP, quality, GMP
  • Experience of being part of a HACCP team
  • Full Driving License due to rural location & travel to manufacture site
