About the Supply Chain & Stock Controller job

The purpose of your role will be to work in the areas of packaging and stock management including order processing, correct product receipt, quality assessment, and constant reviews of warehouse stocks.

This role is key to ensuring that the Company’s stock position is always accurate, regularly assessed and challenged and any issues communicated promptly

Key tasks:

  • Place weekly/monthly purchase orders with suppliers, evaluating sales and forecast.
  • Process all PO paperwork related to Brexit e.g. IPAFFs and customs clearance (training given).
  • Book in deliveries and communicate any issues e.g. shortages and date code issues to both supplier and stock control group.
  • Build close relationships with suppliers to deliver optimum product availability.
  • Work collaboratively with the Warehouse, Goods-In, Production, Accounts and Technical department.
  • Participate in monthly stock takes.
  • Counting, recording of packaging and indirect stock.
  • Identify areas of improvement and recommend action plans.
  • Support the accounts team with data input including posting customer invoices and product receipts and other monthly requirements.

Skills & experience required for the Supply Chain & Stock Controller job

  • Experience working in a fast-paced stock control, stores, supply chain or similar related role.
  • A background working in production, FMCG or food manufacturing is preferred, most ideally chilled food.
  • IT literate with intermediate Excel skills (knowledge of pivot tables, v lookups etc.)
  • Knowledge of Dynamics GP or equivalent is a strong advantage.
  • Confident and effective communicator at all levels.
  • Very strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.

The Supply Chain & Stock Controller job is based in Kent and is paying £24,960.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
