What is our Aylesbury site like? 

 

Built in 2010, covering 76 acres, our carbon neutral dairy in Aylesbury is the very first of its kind in the world! It plays a big part in helping Arla to #feedthenation, producing a staggering 1 billion litres of milk per year. 

 

 

 

What will the role look like? 

 

As a Team Leader within the filling hall and end of line packing departments, you will be responsible for managing performance, safety, quality and cost savings. You will be delivering operational plans and setting day to day team objectives including delivery of the site business plan and resolving day to day issues/escalation points. Reporting into the Senior Operations Manager on site, you will have a team of up to 13 colleagues including Technicians and Operatives.  

 

Ensuring a safe, clean and good working environment utilising 5S principles 

 

Assisting the team to achieve their own objectives including training through coaching, hands on support and organisation of resources 

 

Responsibility for resource utilisation and the management of all 13 direct reports including investigations and performance management 

 

Ensuring a cost efficient and stable production process with emphasis on SIC/KPI 

 

Contributing to the development of current processes and ways of working 

 

Challenging processes and practices identifying opportunities for Continuous Improvement 

 

Implementing the department Business Plan including own objectives 

 

Conducting walking tours and process confirmation 

 

Enabling daily direction setting meeting (DDS) in order to drive performance 

 

Ensuring that your department complies with Arla’s standards in terms of Food Safety, H&S, Environment and carry’s out internal audits to ensure compliance. 

 

Responsibility  for controlling any emergency issues/situations on site   

 

What do I need?   

 

Extensive experience within people management  

 

Knowledge of Lean principles (Six Sigma qualification would be preferred but not essential) 

 

Excellent people skills, high levels of enthusiasm and a positive attitude to change and problem solving 

 

Management experience within a relevant sector such as food, manufacturing or FMCG would be preferred but not essential  

 

Ability to work on a 12 hour shift pattern including both days and night shifts
