This is a truly modern and innovative foodservice business that is now looking for a Commercial Buyer in this newly created role. Reporting to the Head of Purchasing you'll support the commercial buying for the business.

We are looking for an individual who will take ownership of a portfolio of suppliers, build and maintain strong strategic relationships whilst managing product pricing, rebates, and terms. You'll take the responsibility of reviewing and developing the product range, working with existing suppliers, and sourcing new suppliers to ensure our produce offering is ahead of market trends, and supports the needs of customers. You'll regularly attend trade shows, and work closely with the sales and marketing teams, to present and bring products to life, and ensure buy in across the board.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Have full commercial responsibility for a portfolio of suppliers
  • Identify opportunities to develop the supply base
  • Source new buying opportunities to increase profitability
  • Manage contractual forecasting and negotiations
  • Drive innovation in our product offering to be ahead of the market




You will need to have previous buying experience within the food industry and able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You will have first-hand experience of negotiating with suppliers and setting up and managing contracts.

You have great communication skills and be able to build strong relationships both internally with stakeholders and externally with the supply base. IT literate you'll be confident analysing and interpreting data and be meticulous and organised.

Above all you be driven and passionate and be ambitious to succeed. Ideally, degree or CIPs qualified, you'll have first class IT skills and be confident around Microsoft Excel.
