The Company

This trusted and recognised establishment works in partnership with the food & drink industry, communicating food industry values and concerns to regulators, consumers and the government. Working with a variety of businesses, from household names to the brands of tomorrow, they provide technical, regulatory and legislative support.  They are now looking for a forward thinking Regulation Manager to join their London office.

The Role

In this role you will manage a small team to ensure the development and communication of regulatory programmes and food policies. Becoming the subject matter expert on allergen and intolerance information you will monitor international scientific developments and the progression of new technologies, analysing how these effect and shape the future of food. You will seek ways to best present these to stakeholders, ensuring the appropriate flow of information is presented in effective guidelines and toolkits.  

You will develop and deliver a strategy to support food safety policy work within different food sectors.  Along with this you will coordinate the management of incidents, overseeing and reviewing protocols that are put in place to prevent future incidents. This will involve communicating frequently with external bodies, such as FSA and governmental departments to ensure information is collated and implemented into policies.

The Person

We are looking for a highly proactive and detail driven Regulatory Affairs professional with has experience working in a regulatory role in food retail, manufacturing or a consultancy environment. You will be educated in food science / technology to degree level ideally and be well versed in UK food safety policies and a good knowledge of food hypersensitivity issues.  

You’ll need proven team management skills as well as understanding how to manage internal and external stakeholders with confidence and finesse.  You must have great analytical skills with the ability to assess and analyse complex data and then coherently communicate key information.
