Job Details
My client is a large food manufacturing producer, with multiple UK, and international offices
They are currently seeking a Raw Material Technologist as a new addition to their Group Technical team.
The role:
To ensure the accurate creation and maintenance of all raw material specifications for the European group.
To be a technical expert in raw materials, overseeing the validation of all new raw materials.
To support the Supplier Assurance Manager and Site Technical Leads with raw material and packaging specifications.
To request and maintain supplier compliance documentation.
To provide support to Group and Site based Technical Teams
To be the lead for all raw material non-conformances and troubleshooting investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and sustainable preventative actions are implemented to remove the risk of reoccurrence.
Candidate previous experience requirements:
A degree within food science / safety / nutrition or equivalent will be advantageous for this role.
You will need to have a strong background in technical. Specifically checking and writing specifications against legal compliance and customer requirements.

Excellent communicator / Influencer at all levels within the business.
A high level of self-motivation and a desire to deliver to meet the overall technical business strategy.
You will need to have excellent organisation skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a small team.
Attention to detail.
Good Interpersonal skills and a professional approach.
A high degree of credibility both internally and externally based on experience and competence in technical knowledge and interpretive skills.
Excellent listening skills.
Tenacity and the ability to question in an appropriate manner until the relevant information is forthcoming.
A strong team player, capable of supporting both the technical team and cross-functionally.
What’s on offer?
A starting salary of up to £30,000
33 days annual leave per annum
Working hours of 08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday
Applicants will preferably hold a driving licence as the appointed person will travel to group sites across the UK on some rare occasions per year.
