Packaging Technologist

My client is a large food manufacturing producer, with multiple UK, and international offices

 

They are currently seeking a Packaging Technologist as a new addition to their Group Technical team.

 

 

 

The role:

 

To ensure the accurate creation and maintenance of all packaging bills of materials for the European group.

 

To be a technical expert in packaging, overseeing the validation of all new packaging ensuring it is sufficiently specified to ensure successful implementation.

 

To be the lead for all packaging non-conformance and trouble shooting investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and sustainable preventative actions are implemented to remove the risk of reoccurrence.

 

To support the group innovation pipeline from a packaging perspective, ensuring new and innovative packaging is sourced and validated in line with the agreed critical paths.

 

 

 

Candidate previous experience requirements:

 

The candidate should be degree (or equivalent) qualified, ideally in a Packaging or related Food / Scientific field.

 

A minimum of 3 years Packaging Technology experience, dealing with issues in a food manufacturing environment.

 

Proven track record of successfully working with packaging materials from a technical viewpoint.

 

Knowledge of printing processes, art work and packaging materials.

 

Good level of project management skill.

What’s on offer?

 

A starting salary of up to £35,000

 

33 days annual leave per annum

 

Working hours of 08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday

 

 

 

Applicants will preferably hold a driving licence as the appointed person will travel to group sites across the UK on some rare occasions per year.
