QA Technician (Night shift)

Our client, a fast paced, high-volume manufacturer of chilled foods for the Major Retailers, is looking for a QA Technician (Night shift) for their site based in Kent / Greater London. The successful candidate will ensure that all necessary HACCP & Pre-requisite checks are carried out to meet Food Safety, Quality & Legal Standards, ensuring that non-conformances are identified and reported promptly with corrective actions applied in a timely manner 

Reporting to the QA Manager, responsibilities for the role will include: 

•    Performing verification / calibration checks e.g. temperature probes & scales
•    Completing GMP, fabrication and hygiene audits 
•    Completing glass / hard plastic audits
•    Conducting laboratory swabs, testing and sampling
•    Conducting chemical concentration checks
•    Deputising for factory and intake QAs as and when required
•    Reporting non-conformances through the correct channels to ensure prompt action
•    Liaising with other departments e.g. production, engineering to ensure correct & accurate flow of materials to the agreed quality standard

Essential / Desirable skills include:

•    Experience in a Quality / Technical role within Food Manufacturing
•    Excellent organisational skills, skilled at time management
•    Good standard of written English and Numeracy
•    Excellent communication skills 
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•    Good IT skills - Microsoft office, intermediate level Excel and Word

The role offers a salary of up to £22k per annum working 4 on 4 off, on the NIGHT shift, 7pm – 7am.
