THE ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER
As an Assistant Production Manager, you'll be a solution focused, organised person who demonstrates a passion for detail and quality. This role is perfect for someone who can lead by example and help us grow in a purposeful way.
Every day will be different, and you'll demonstrate a flexible approach to managing your workload, using your initiative to prioritise various operational, supply chain and people management needs and tasks. You will support with the management of stock levels, ensuring that packaging and product requirements are available in line with the production plan and that you have the right people in place to ensure delivery of the plan.
The role will involve: Monitoring and maintaining productivity of our packing lines including OEE, waste and efficiency of lines. Lead, manage and support the team through all areas of the employee lifecycle including recruitment, absence management and performance reviews. Ensuring the team have the right skills and knowledge to be effective in their roles, identifying learning needs. Creating regular reports and communicating with the leadership team on a daily basis; production outputs, quality and forward planning. Involved with the writing of SOP's, work instructions, visual guides for all of the production team activities. Working closely with other Assistant Production Managers and Head of Operations to ensure weekly/daily labour and stock requirements are managed effectively. Drive continuous improvement across all production lines and our operations.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Will need to have strong experience in a similar Production role from within a manufacturing environment. You will also need to have: Experience of Lean Manufacturing is a bonus.Hands-on experience with machinery and an inner understanding of how machines work.You will need a strong level of spoken and written English for this role. The ability to speak and understand other European languages would be an advantage.You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, being able to inspire people as well as effectively manage difficult conversations when required.
