About the Procurement Manager job

The purpose of your role will be to effectively manage the costs of products used within the company, producing weekly cost analysis to ensure the business can maximise profitability and make cost improvements where available.

Key tasks:

• Effective relationship building with key suppliers for all food raw materials, ingredients & packaging to meet business demands.
• Regularly review cost out opportunities and ensure prices for goods and services are in line with relevant market rates, efficiently sourced, and procured in a way that creates the best value for the business.
• Control and maintain an accurate record of supplier and contract price change requests with relevant supporting supplier documentation.
• Maintain a record of, and communicate as necessary, to key stakeholders all inflation/deflation that will impact the business.
• Maintain an accurate price file to be used by the stock control, commercial, and finance teams to support order placement, commercial inflation, and received invoice pricing.
• Identify and mitigate risk relating to supplier relations and price volatility.
• Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

Skills & experience required for the Procurement Manager job

This role may suit a Procurement Coordinator, Buying Coordinator, or similar who is looking for a step up in their career.

• Procurement experience within an FMCG industry, most preferably food manufacturing.
• Strong initiative with good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
• Ideally educated to a degree level and/or CIPS qualified (or training towards) is an advantage.
• Negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.

The Procurement Manager job is based in Kent and is paying £30,000 - £35,000 according to your experience.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, office hours.
