Position Summary

We are currently looking for both Process and Packaging Manufacturing Technicians to join our production site in Coventry.

Reports to: Shift Operations Manager
Direct reports: None
Working Hours: Continental shift pattern (4 on, 4 off) working 12 hour shifts. This will rotate between days (06:00-18:00) and nights (18:00-6:00) each block (average of 42 hours per week).

Main Accountability


1) Packaging Manufacturing Technicians:

As a Packaging Manufacturing Technician, you will be a key member of the production team where your actions will directly impact our overall site performance. In order to maintain the efficiency of our production lines, you will combine your technical competence with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to lead and initiate change. With an aptitude to coach and mentor others, you will have the ability to adapt to an ever-changing, dynamic manufacturing environment, and be able to quickly identify and remedy machine errors as they occur.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Being responsible for a designated area, driving performance to meet, maintain and exceed quality, food safety, cost, service and safety measures.
  • Co-ordinating and motivating the General Operator team to achieve daily production targets.
  • Providing operational control for all elements of running production equipment to include set-up, maintenance and cleaning.
  • Monitoring, controlling and carrying out basic fault diagnosis and repairs on equipment and machinery.
  • Taking responsibility for good manufacturing practices with excellent hygiene and safety standards within the designated area.

    2) Process Manufacturing Technicians:

    As a Process Manufacturing Technician, you will be a key member of the production team where your actions will directly impact our overall site performance. In order to maintain the efficiency of our production lines, you will combine your technical competence with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to lead and initiate change. With strong communication skills, you will have the ability to adapt to an ever-changing, dynamic manufacturing environment. You will be able to centreline and optimise the process area with an understanding of the equipment set up and preventative maintenance processes needed, both running and stopped.

    Role & Responsibilities:
  • Being responsible for a designated area, driving performance to meet, maintain and exceed quality, food safety, cost, service and safety measures.
  • Supporting/coaching the Process and Seasoning General Operators to operate to the right standards and resolve any technical issues they see
  • Providing operational control for all elements of running production equipment to include set-up, centre lining, maintenance and cleaning.
  • Monitoring and maintaining critical process input controls and measuring some of the product attributes
  • Completing Running and Stopped Preventative Maintenance along with Mechanical set-up assessments
  • Taking responsibility for good manufacturing practices with excellent hygiene and safety standards within the designated area.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

 

  • Validated mechanical and maintenance engineering experience
  • Demonstrable experience in machine fault-finding and repair
  • Logical approach to problem-solving, and practical skills
  • Skills in communicating effectively
  • Able to find opportunities for improvement and implement solutions

Preferred (but not Essential) Qualifications:

 

 

  • Experience in machine operation
  • Skills in mentoring/influencing others
  • Previous manufacturing/factory experience
