Byzas Research provide independent food testing services to food manufacturers and retailers. We are looking for a food scientist with a passion for food to join our team in Ruthin, North Wales.

This new role will primarily focus on product testing for cooking /reheat guidelines and nutritional analysis. Key elements of the role are:

  • Management of day to day testing of cooking/reheat guidelines and preparation of samples for nutritional analysis.
  • Use your knowledge of food safety and love of food to deliver the best possible results for the consumer.
  • Manage testing capacity and communicate this to the team.
  • Maintain an awareness of legislation and policies to ensure on going compliance and best practice.
  • Prepare client reports detailing testing, results and recommendations.
  • Conduct internal auditing of processes and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have: A degree or similar in Food Science / Technology or other scientific discipline. Although we will consider relevant experience in place of a degree. * Experience in the food industry, particularly new product development, quality control or cooking and reheat guidelines would be an advantage.

  • Strong planning and organisation skills.
  • Accuracy and an eye for detail
  • Good IT skills
  • Strong understanding of food safety and compliance with technical policies.
