Job Details

Protea Recruitment is working with a Food Manufacturer in Cornwall who is looking for an Engineer to join their team. If you have experience within an FMCG environment, please apply or get in touch.

Key Achievements

  • To respond to process downtime incidents quickly, diagnose and take appropriate action to remedy the situation.
  • Effective delivery of pro-active, planned, and preventative engineering maintenance to ensure our existing equipment can meet capacity demand and efficiency targets
  • Identifying and delivering against opportunities to implement engineering changes and continuous improvement projects to maximise plant efficiencies and energy optimisation.
  • To operate machinery and equipment (subject to training) in a safe manner.
  • To participate in the set-up, maintenance and shutdown of production lines and procedures.
  • To report issues that may arise within the production areas.
  •  To contribute towards continuous improvement activities
  • As requested, to undertake projects or activities not specifically outlined above.

General Responsibilities:

  • To have an awareness and understanding of the business values and objectives and to contribute to the review process actively and positively.
  • To always behave with a high degree of professional integrity
  • To always work in accordance with the Company’s Dignity and Diversity policy.
  • To understand and demonstrate your own responsibility for Health and Safety at Work (Act 1974) and be familiar with the Company policy, rules, and regulations in the regard.
  • To understand and demonstrate your own responsibility with regards Environmental Awareness and to be familiar with the Company policy, rules, and regulations in the regard.
  • To understand and demonstrate your own responsibility for Food Safety and be familiar with the Company policy, rules, and regulations in the regard
  • To support in developing new members of staff where appropriate

Key Attributes:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Completion of Food Safety and Health and Safety training
  • Comply with H&S, Food safety and HACCP procedures.
  •  Industry recognised electro/mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Demonstrates behaviours that support the Company values –
