QA Technologist

Savencia Fromage & Dairy is the worlds #5 cheese manufacturer and a major player in milk processing focused on cheese and milk specialities. We also specialise in other dairy products including delicatessen, seafood and chocolate. We are present in 31 countries and our products are sold in 120 countries. We have 80 production sites and employ 22,000 staff globally.

In the UK we specialise in distributing Continental Cheese to major UK retailers. We are also experts in Cheese Education and train our customers on continental cheeses.

Our Technical team, based in Westbury, are currently seeking a QA Technologist to ensure the compliance to quality, safety and regulatory requirements for all of our products. 

Key areas of responsibility:

• Auditing of the factory, processes, products and records to verify operations are adhering to the set standards and procedures, this includes conducting GMP audits 
• Conduct start and end of shift checks e.g. Metal detection fail safes
• Equipment calibration 
• Product evaluation panels, including the instigation and follow up of any associated corrective actions
• Coordination of microbiological testing, swabbing and sampling 
• Complete traceability exercises
• Complaint investigation and implementation of corrective actions 
• Create and distribute Technical team newsletters 
• Manage and issue the weekly production code sheets 

Your Profile:

•  Experience working within a Food/Drink/FMCG environment is essential
• Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Strong commitment to Health and Safety / Product Quality and Site values
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of all Microsoft office packages. 
• Level 2 food safety for manufacturing
• Self-disciplined, self-motivated and positively minded with a can-do attitude (full of energy!)s
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly problem solve
• Ability to interact with all levels within the business
• Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats
