Quality Control Technician

Our client is a well-established Food Manufacturer that supplies Foods to major retailers and foodservice operators. They are seeking to appoint a Quality Assurance Technician, who can work as part of a high functioning team. The role is immediately available and will involve working Monday to Friday shift hours. The position will have a great deal of autonomy and the range of day-to-day duties will be broad, as each member of the Technical team is trained in all aspects of the Quality and Technical function.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Complete Quality product checks on the line as per schedule and record (Xray, temp, gas etc.) and report immediately if any checks are out of agreed specification.
• Work closely with production to implement corrective action when required and as per SOP i.e., direction as per component weights.
• Verify lines are on the correct settings according to product being packaged (Check weigher, PA system, Xray and vision system)
• Verify food is assembled/presented correctly on the line as per product specification and work with line lead corrective action is needed.
• Verify line clean downs are correct and satisfactory. Ensure paperwork is completed correctly and in appropriate time.
• Ensure GMP’s are being adhered to (e.g., Hairnets worn correctly, PPE changed as per schedule, using scoops instead of hands when assembling etc.)
• Coordinate quality control activities according to the agreed sampling plan while adhering to all policies and standard operating procedures.
• Assist in training of standard operating procedures and completion of training records.
• Monitor the production process in line with factory HACCP i.e., CCP checks and equipment.
• In some cases, some additional tasks to be complete to meet a business needs.

Key Experience and Skills:

• Experience QA role
• Strong understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems and importance of systems
• Proven track record in a similar role in a high-risk food environment
• Ability to work cross functionally with other departments.
• Ability to work with Microsoft System (Word, Excel)
• Strong communication skills Strong organizational skills
• English Language is essential.

Reporting:

• This role will report directly to the Quality Manager and work closely with QA’S as part of the Technical /Quality Department.
