The Company

This multi-site food manufacturer is known for creating an abundance of innovative food products for their prestigious customers, always one step ahead of their competitors. A new Packaging Developer opportunity has arisen to support their Innovations Team in bringing exciting new packaging concepts that will impress discerning consumers across the nation.

The Role

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, you will operate within a supportive team at their impressive Midlands site, but travel to one of their sister sites will be a common occurrence. You will be tasked with developing new and modifying existing packaging concepts for major retail customers. You will work on NPD packaging projects to translate visions and concepts into robust, tangible commercial solutions that customers and consumers will love.

A natural creative, you will have an eye for innovation and be able to create graphical mock-ups to enhance and clearly communicate your concepts to internal teams and key customers. You will look to consider emerging trends, sustainability agendas and new technologies.

A key part of your role will be presenting concepts to internal and external stakeholders, communicating product feasibility and commercial viability. You will then collaborate throughout the process to ensure tweaks are made and expectations are met.

You will also support the factory packaging technologist with trials and help review, refine or modify design specs to ensure final packaging is stunning, of exceptional quality as well as fit for purpose.

The Person

This role would suit a technically savvy, creative and commercially astute Packaging professional who has experience in a similar role within Food, FMCG industry or packaging manufacturing.  You’ll be ready for a step up into a customer focussed role where your passion and expertise of packaging can come to life.  You’ll be curious and creative but also methodical in your approach with a superb eye for detail so that your projects are delivered flawlessly.

You will have a degree in packaging, material science, food technology or a related field. Strong project management, communication skills and experience creating presentations with graphical mock ups to support your ideas is essential.  Experience of using adobe packages such as Adobe Suite and Illustrator would be extremely advantageous.
