Development Technologist

The Company

This exciting food business manufacture a range of branded and own-label products for UK customers. Determined to remain leaders in their categories through trend spotting and innovation they are constantly striving to improve the market and bring fresh, inspiring ideas to customers. Due to an internal promotion they are now looking for a new addition to their NPD team. 

This is a site-based role with travel required between sites, so a dull driving licence is essential. 

The Role 

Reporting to the NPD Manager you’ll work proactively to co-ordinate the development process with customers and the internal teams for both new and existing ranges. This broad concept to launch role will mean involvement in be involved in all aspects of NPD.

You will help to support the team with new product briefs (NPD or EPD), sourcing ingredients, recipe formulation, creating product samples and being part of customer presentations. Once the product has been approved, you’ll work closely with the technical and operations team to plan and carry out product trials.  You will organise everything you need for the trials, monitor and record relevant information and complete the final shelf life, organoleptic and nutritional requirements. 

You will learn about every step of the NPD process, gaining experience of how to create and launch high quality products that are delicious as well as being technically and commercially viable. 

The Candidate

Suit an ambitious food graduate who has some previous experience in food manufacturing and is looking for a broader role in order to take their career to the next level.

You will need to have a good understanding of the creative and technical aspects of the product development process. You will enjoy working in an innovations kitchen, being hands on with products and ingredients, but must also love the hustle and bustle of a high risk factory. 

Would suit confident technologists who can engage at every level, deftly manage projects and be super organised.
