Salary £38,000 to £42,000 per annum

Investigate feasibility of the food ideas.
Active participation/ creation of food briefs with marketing and other stakeholders
Ensure standards are met in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Shelf life requirements – ensuring shelf life of the safety of your own food projects
Industrialisation, ensuring with supply partners and other functions that new products are scaled up and implemented in line with briefs.
Attend factory trials and launches taking responsibility for delivery of the foods.
Contribute to problem resolution and continuous improvement with the finished goods supplier and other functions of new foods
Testing and evaluating alternative raw materials with suppliers to assure contingency / cost saving.
Presenting products to key stakeholders
Ensure that all of the business’s foods are safe and produced to the specified quality
Manage Development Project budgets
Work with Quality to keep informed about specification changes of existing products
Contribute food ideas to fill the longer term plan by understanding the capabilities of suppliers in your category
Attend Food shows/ innovation/ ideation conferences
Investigate new raw material suppliers
Ensure that all of the businesses foods are safe, authentic, legal and produced to the specified quality
4- 6 years exp working as a Product Development Technologist in a similar FMCG/Food role.
Food science / Technology Degree/ qualification
Experience developing successful new and existing foods from concept to launch through stage gate process
Great knowledge of recipe development, food production and processing
Project management experience
Knowledge on nutrition
Effective communication skills - both written and verbal
Collaborative team player, able to build and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders
