Job Details

Our client is a long established and successful food manufacturer based in the Midlands who produce consistently high-quality products.  They are looking for an NPD Technologist to be involved in all aspects of the development of their products. 

The Role

A far-reaching role, you will be involved in the development of plant-based products, interacting with customers, working on applications for a range of ingredients, doing factory trials, as well as providing information and technical support, producing samples, and keeping track of ingredients. Duties include:

Complete assigned projects & tasks efficiently & within allocated timescales.

Highlight risks & assistance requirements & propose solutions.

Maintain project documentation.

Sourcing raw materials from existing and new suppliers.

Obtain and agree specifications with technical department.

Preparing all required information on trial products, and pilot samples.

Oversee large production trials.

Ensure reporting to wider team is completed.

Sample preparation & distribution.

Test and develop recipes.

Watching market trends, collating the information and competitor analysis

Keeping accurate records.

Visiting customers as required and preparing samples and content for the meetings.

 

Personal Profile

Educated to Degree level in Food Science or related subject.

Two years work experience in a development kitchen environment

An effective presenter will excellent report-writing skills, the ability to draft accurate complex correspondence to project stakeholders (internal and external).

Able to work independently and as part of the wider team, sharing knowledge.

Flexible, easily adaptable to changes.

Ability to use initiative and be pro-active whilst developing the product range.

The ability to converse with a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally & written.

Full UK driving license.
