Technical Co-ordinator – Essex – up to £40,000 plus huge range of benefits
As Technical Co-ordinator you will be responsible for ensuring that the Clients goals Quality, Food Safety, Legality and Authenticity are met by the company's 3rd Party Manufacturers.
The role provides direction for delivering safe high quality food products and report achievement and continuous development through KPI's for the businesses 3rd party manufacturing. The role will lead technical excellence throughout the supply chain from raw material supply to finished goods.

Co-ordinate with 3rd Party Manufacturers to ensure that products produced for the Client meet Food Safety and Quality standards required.
Food labelling legislation to ensure products supplied to all markets are correctly labelled and conform to all labelling and weights and measures legislation.
Auditing, responsible for arranging and carrying out supplier, third party audits relating to products supplied.
Specification control to ensure current and up to date specifications are available for all products produced by 3rd Party Manufacturers, including incoming raw materials, finished products and packaging materials.
Dealing with and resolving any technical problems that may occur on a day-to-day basis. This will involve working with customers, suppliers, colleagues and regulatory bodies as required.
Writing procedures for Quality Management System control of 3rd Party requirements. Supporting the Sales Team by completing Product Specifications, Data Sheets and general information inquiries
Customer Audits/Technical visits.
Carrying out routine quality assessments against competitor's products
Auditing raw material and packaging suppliers.
Legislative issues for product labelling.
Knowledge of BRC requirements
Development of new products as part the company innovation team and 3rd party partners Handle all technical aspects of customer complaints, working closely with the Consumer Care team.
Provide support to the businesses sites technical teams and other areas of the business for BRC and wider regulatory compliance across all markets.
As Technical Co-ordinator you will understand when quality standards are not being met and have the knowledge and commitment to seek solutions to deliver "top quality" products.
You will have well-rounded background gained within a food manufacturing environment. Experience of managing and implementing HACCP and BRC standards is essential, with a successful track record of achieving excellence.
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team across the business.
Travel and work remotely at suppliers’ sites as required and represent the company in Technical decisions and as an ambassador for the business.
You will be ideally educated to a degree level in food science, food technology or food safety-related discipline.
Proven track record in a similar role is vital as well as having customer-facing experience.
HACCP level 4
Thermal Processing knowledge would be an advantage or the ability to quickly learn the fundamentals and develop a competence on the requirements for manufacture of safe ambient products.
Knowledge of legislation relating to food safety and compliance for the UK and overseas markets for food supply.
