Vacancy: Process and Quality Microbiologist
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours of work: Predominately Monday – Friday with some weekends. Flexibility required.

We are now looking to recruit a microbiologist to lead our established team. About the role?
Offering the right person, a critical and rewarding role that is of the utmost importance to us. The role involves:
- Leading a small team to manage our on-site chemistry and micro laboratory
- Routine testing and detailed investigation of quality issues providing hands on leadership and support across production operations. Our onsite laboratory services all aspects of our dairy supply chain from farm to finished product.
- Setting new microbiology and quality projects to enhance the innovative potential of the business, ensuring objectives are achieved
- Interpreting and analysing food safety and quality data with the aim to highlight opportunities for improvement and work alongside production departments to resolve quality issues
- Being part of a management group that is responsible for the smooth operation of the overall business
- Ensuring attention to detail with regards to processes and compliance with quality management systems including leading audits and visits
We ask that all our team are able to demonstrate a reasonable degree of flexibility. Role will be predominantly Monday to Friday with some weekend work required This role will require the person to be contactable to address any urgent matters that may arise outside of normal working hours.
About you?:
We are looking for someone with a with a keen interest in food, product quality and aptitude for data analysis and processes. We are passionate about maintaining our exceptional tasting and quality products which you will help to continually improve. You will be proactive, have a strong ‘hands on’ work ethic, and a collaborative, empathetic attitude.
You will have:
- A degree (BSc or equivalent) in Microbiology or a relevant scientific discipline
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of dairy processes being desirable however full training will be given
- Ideally 2+ years of experience in the microbiology field
- The ability to make timely decisions on all matters relating to quality
- The character to work in a small team and be willing to ‘muck in’ and help cover holidays and absence is important
- An analytical, data-driven mind
- Investigative, analytical and audit skills
