We are currently looking to recruit a Product Technologist to join our Technical team in our Loughborough Head Office. Working with the Technical & Compliance Manager to implement the business technical strategy, the Product Technologist will ensure product safety and quality is effective in a fast-moving and fun environment.

What will you do in this Product Technologist role?

  • Assist the Technical and Compliance Manager to ensure the business and suppliers achieve the agreed legal, compliance, safety and quality standards for our products
  • Manage and complete allocated tasks required to enable a successful NPD launch
  • Request and log product specifications and relevant documents from suppliers
  • Complete customer specific technical documents and information requests
  • Organise product sample submissions to external laboratory for appropriate testing
  • Be responsible for providing and documenting specific Master data information
  • Be responsible for the accurate documentation and effective record keeping of all Technical Information, including maintenance of the product database
  • Work effectively cross-functionally and providing technical support as necessary
  • Complete the review of product specifications and technical documents for live products at pre-determined intervals
  • Undertake technical visits to suppliers (as needed) to sign off 1st production and complete a quality assessment
  • Build and maintain external customer and supplier relationships with both technical and product development teams

The right person will have the following skills and experience:

  • Technical and quality experience within the food sector, ideally a degree in Food Science or related subject
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Organised, methodical, with excellent administrative and good communication skills
  • Good relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders
  • An understanding of the principles of GMP and Global Food Safety Initiatives

We operate a hybrid home/office working policy – for this Product Technologist role that will mean you will be normally based 3 days at Head Office (Loughborough) and up to 2 days at home, however due to the nature of the role, there may require travel elsewhere. Therefore a full driving license is essential.
