Job Details

We are working with a large national based manufacturer who searching for a hands-on Planning Manager at their site in Hull and join the Senior Leadership Team.


Responsibilities 
•    Create, manage, and motivate a planning team ensuring all are fully aligned and KPIs are met
•    Understand, challenge, and interpret the demand forecasts and plan the resources required on a 
rolling 12 month or more basis
•    Maintain the current master supply plan using appropriate Excel tools
•    Develop the current master supply plan database using appropriate ERP tools to provide a quicker, 
more robust and cost-effective solution
•    Create, maintain, communicate and monitor production planning schedules to ensure 
manufacturing resource allocations are efficient, timely and adhere to quality standards
•    Provide effective communication including developing KPI’s for both internal & external customers 
ensuring that all relevant personnel are kept up to date with any potential issues 
•    Ensure finished goods and materials stock holdings are maintained at agreed levels to balance 
service requirements with cash flow and warehouse space
•    Ensure the availability of materials with suppliers, considering any supply chain constraints in 
conjunction with the Procurement team
•    Monitor logistics supply flows to the destination warehouses and resolve planning issues / 
bottlenecks / propose-initiate immediate action to secure customer service availability
•    Lead and run monthly Supply Review meeting to ensure effective capacity plans that balance 
customer service, supply cost, and inventory targets as well as to ensure that all potential issues are 
effectively summarised and escalated to the relevant forum for resolution

•    Can demonstrate and use fact-based information and is comfortable to be analytical when required 
and to operate ‘in the detail’
•    A lifelong desire and curiosity to keep learning regardless of experience/age
•    Innovative but disciplined – ability to think and/or enact new solutions as well as use and follow 
tested ones
•    Flexible and open minded but able to make and stick to the difficult decisions when required
