NPD Technologist

The Company

This ambitious and entrepreneurial business are growing their Food Development team and are looking for a talented NPD Technologist who is super foodie and enjoys working in an innovative and fast-moving category.

Please note there will be some travel to customers, sister sites and suppliers, so a car and driving licence is highly advantageous.

The Role

Reporting to the NPD Manager, you will work as part of a multi-site Food Innovation Team to create new products for a range of customers, managing briefs from concept through to launch.

You’ll be working with customers and the commercial team to drive the NPD pipeline ensuring you bring the food agenda to life. You’ll manage customer briefs, developing new concepts, ensuring feasibility, commercial viability and working with factory teams to ensure a successful launch.

You will carry out market research and be able to use insights on consumers, food trends, and competitors to ensure your new products are at the forefront of innovation. You will liaise closely with customers, presenting ideas and developing solid working relationships.

The Person

We are seeking an ambitious, creative and hands on NPD Technologist who can jump into this fast-paced, customer focussed role and add some foodie sparkle to the team. This is a broad role where you will be involved in every facet of new product development.

Experience within an NPD role is essential, as well as a Food Science, or related degree, to ensure you have a solid grasp of critical path management, process and recipe development.

You will also possess an exceptional understanding of food trends, ingredients, and seasonality which you can use to revamp recipes as well as conjure up new delights. You must have excellent communication and organisation skills coupled with the ability and enthusiasm to learn quickly and get started on new projects.
