Lead Quality Assurance Auditor

Our client, a fast paced, high-volume manufacturer of chilled foods for the major retailers, is looking for Lead QA Auditors for their site based in North Wales. The successful candidates will be working either the day OR night shift ensuring all products are manufactured safely and meet or exceed customer specifications.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, responsibilities for the role will include:
•    Carrying out a taste as you go panel – foods include meat, fish, dairy and alcohol to ensure they meet the approved quality standards
•    Completing initial risk assessments of incidents, investigating and escalating as required
•    Ensuring audits are carried out in line with pre-defined schedule
•    Ensuring all food safety, GMP, legality and quality requirements are adhered to
•    Collecting appropriate product samples as required
•    Taking a proactive approach to identification and investigation of non-conforming product or standards
•    Communicating and providing information to customers and third-party auditors while on site
•    Conducting verification of process controls e.g. environmental swabbing
•    Ensuring all relevant paperwork is available to check process controls, verification of critical pieces of equipment e.g. daily line sheets, scales, probes, metal detectors, checkweighers

Essential / Desirable skills include:
•    NVQ Food Safety Level 2 or equivalent
•    Experience within Quality Assurance in the food sector
•    Good organisational skills and communication skills

The working hours are either Nights 6pm to 6am OR Days 6am – 6pm on a 4 on, 4 off basis, with a salary of £27300 - £29575 dependent on shift preference, plus an excellent benefits package.
