The Role.
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team at Barfoots of Botley. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering operations and ensuring the smooth running of our production facilities.
Your primary focus will be on managing a team of engineers to ensure maintenance, repair, and improvement of all production equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering strategies that optimise productivity and minimise downtime, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards. In addition, you will be involved in identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction, within the engineering department.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Leadership and team management, with responsibility for all people management related activities
• Oversee the maintenance, repair and improvement of production machinery and equipment
• Liaise with relevant managers to create proactive planned maintenance schedule & weekly maintenance plans
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction
• Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure efficient production processes
Required Skills and Experience
• Engineering management/supervisory experience in an FMCG/manufacturing/production environment
• Significant experience with maintenance and repair of production machinery and equipment
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, processes, and techniques
• Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and industry standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Relevant engineering qualification
