Our client, a family-run food manufacturer based in Leicestershire, is looking for a Technical and Compliance Assistant.  Working closely with the Technical Manager, the role will encompass a wide range of duties including the creation of technical documents, factory audits and micro testing.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, responsibilities for the role will include:
•    Assisting with the creation and updating of technical documents for production and the Quality Management System
•    Conducting internal audits against the SALSA standard as well as GMP audits
•    Supporting the technical team with microbiological, environmental and internal organoleptic testing and sampling
•    Conducting Product Traceability exercises and helping to gather documentation when required
•    Supporting the team to resolve customer queries with products and packaging.
•    Assisting with export and packaging queries, including packaging waste compliance
•    Working alongside other departments for cross departmental projects including production, purchasing, finance and sales

Essential / Desirable skills include:
•    Experience in a Technical / Quality role within Food Manufacturing
•    A proactive work ethic and strong attention to detail 
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Good understanding of HACCP, GMP, Food Safety and Food Hygiene 
•    Able to work well within a team, as well as independently

The working hours for the role are Monday to Friday 37.5 hours week with some flexibility to start/finish times. The salary is up to £33k per annum.
