Summary

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Health and Safety Manager to join our client, a leading manufacturer of dairy nutrition products located in Ceredigion, Wales. The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all aspects of our operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and staff on health and safety best practices, including training programs and toolbox talks.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence. Monitor and evaluate workplace conditions and practices to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, external consultants, and other stakeholders to stay informed about changes in health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Manage the company's environmental health and safety management systems, including ISO certification requirements.
  • Lead emergency response planning and coordinate drills to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance through regular communication and engagement with employees at all levels.
  • Compile and maintain accurate records and reports related to health, safety, and environmental performance metrics.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 NEBOSH/IOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety (Progress to Level 5 NEBOSH/IOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management
  • Lead Auditor for either ISO45001, ISO14001 or ISO50000 (with recognised transition lead assessor training for the other)
  • Minimum Level 3 NEBOSH/IOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety (Progress to Level 5 NEBOSH/IOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management
