About the Goods In Warehouse Supervisor job

The purpose of your role will be to supervise warehouse operatives and be responsible for liaising with all departments to ensure products and services are supplied to agreed timescales, ensuring technical and quality standards are achieved as well as ensuring the smooth functioning of inbound operations while maintaining high standards of efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with safety protocols.

Key tasks

  • Supervise the receiving process for all incoming materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliveries whilst managing Manage inventory control systems to accurately record received goods, update stock levels, and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Responsible for maintaining the yard, ensuring it is always safe and escalating any risks, whilst Enforcing safety guidelines and best practices, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to verify the quality and quantity of goods received, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements and escalate non-conforming stock and / or suppliers.
  • Ensure Chilled and Frozen stock adheres to temperature control and is put away in a timely manner and ensure FIFO is adhered to surround stock holding where practicable.
  • Provide support to the stock control team to observe the 85% date life rule and escalate should stock reach this short shelf-life threshold and implement efficient storage techniques for perishable and non-perishable items.
  • Schedule and allocate tasks effectively, promoting teamwork, fairness and maintaining a positive work environment and be part of the return-to-work process for absences. Maintain compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies always.

About You

The successful candidate should have a proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably in food manufacturing or related industries with a strong knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse operations. Familiarity with safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team and the ability to influence and motivate others positively.
  • Attention to detail and high-end problem-solving skills and able to multi-task effectively.

The Goods in Warehouse Supervisor job is based in Lancashire and is paying £25,000 - £27,500 per annum according to your experience.

The package includes 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension, employee assistance programme for yourself, your partner, and any children in full time education up to the age of 21 - this includes counselling, wellbeing and engagement programmes. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 08.00am to 16.30pm and Fridays 07.30am - 15.00pm.
