Site Based Role

At the heart of this, our UK Poultry division produces a third of all poultry eaten in the UK and represents more than half of 2 Sisters’ business by sales. The division employs over 9,000 people working in a chilled environment to process poultry products which are then marketed to UK consumers via major retailers.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As Environment Manager for one of the UKs largest poultry production sites, you’ll be responsible for providing all levels of the business with the highest possible quality of advice.
You will also report on and continually improve processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all Environmental legislation and Standards.
As part of the role, there will be training and development to continue your personal and professional development, as well as upskilling with relevant FMCG courses.
Day to day you can expect the role to involve:
· Developing the site’s three-year environmental strategy and plan in alignment with group functions.
· Ensuring compliance with the EPR permitting regulations and all other relevant environmental regulations and standards,
· Effective and regularly reporting on targets, trends, and corrective actions both to internal and external bodies. Completion of regulatory reporting such as CCA, Annual ERP permit requirements.
· Working collaboratively across the site, particularly with colleagues in Engineering, Operations and Technical/Hygiene to promote and improve environmental standards.
· Becoming the site's IEMA Registered Environment Trainer, delivering regular training to colleagues.
· Managing the environmental management system, ensuring it is up to date and maintaining ISO14001 standards
· Encouraging and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and behavioural change, to ensure compliance and raise standards.
· Conducting regular environmental inspections, audits, and factory tours.
· Liaising with regulatory bodies, customers and other interested parties for site visits, inspections and audits. Providing accurate responses for requests for information.
ABOUT YOU:

· Previous experience as an Environment Manager, ideally in a Food or FMCG manufacturing environment, but all backgrounds will be considered.
· Able to review and improve environmental procedures and excellent analytical skills, able to collate, interpret, and report on data.
· Strong interpersonal skills, taking a 'hands on' approach to influence colleagues, encourage change, and drive environmental standards.
· Demonstrable experience of delivering environmental training.
· Experience of working with ISO14001.
· Good understanding of CCLA Agreements, EUETS Schemes, and MCERTS.
· Good MS Office skills (particularly Excel)
· Experience of working with an Environment Permit and, ideally, some level of membership with the IEMA.
· Ideally have an IEMA or NEBOSH certificate / Diploma although those with a good level of experience will be considered.
