The role
To work with and support the Technical Manager in ensuring food safety compliance within the business, through creating, maintaining and updating records, labels and product specifications.
Key Accountabilities
• Provide support and guidance to ensure food safety and product labelling compliance in accordance with regulations, customer and business requirements.
• Efficiently handle and manage all customer complaints liaising with suppliers and customers.
• To assist with implementation and maintenance of the BRCGS Storage and Distribution accreditation.
• Carry out finished goods product checks against artwork or product specification at goods intake.
• Organise samples for product testing
• Action customer requests related to product details in a timely manner.
• Collaboratively work with suppliers to ensure Product and Packaging Specifications are completed and assist where necessary.
• To assist with Artwork Approval Process from start to finish.
• Represent and work from a technical perspective on NPD/EPD.
Person Profile
• Degree in Food/Nutrition/Product Development or similar
• Great attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment towards continuous improvement and service excellence
• Experience of UK labelling compliance or UK labelling requirements.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time management.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and be able to prioritize and manage workload
Desirable
• 1-2 year experience within the food industry or in a similar role
• Understanding or experience of BRC requirements.
• HACCP – Level 2/Level 3
