The Company

This established and respected food manufacturing business pave the way in the chilled convenience food arena with a distinctive market presence and a strong consumer understanding. They are growing their Packaging Innovation team and have a role for a talented Packaging Developer who can bring passion, creativity and technical prowess.

Travel across multiple UK sites as well as suppliers will be regular.

The Role

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, you will be part of a small team and be responsible for all aspects of developing new packaging concepts for a number of customers.

You will work closely with packaging suppliers to create concepts that are on trend in terms of new materials, sustainability and recycling initiatives. Your vision for new innovation will embody both existing and new ranges, allowing concepts to translate into robust and tangible commercial solutions that are fit for purpose and really stand out in the marketplace.

You will attend customer product submissions to present your proposals, creating graphical mock-ups to enhance and clearly communicate your concepts, and guarantee successful product launches with packaging that delivers on innovation and quality.

The Person

Ideally you will have gained hands on packaging experience from the FMCG industry and feel the time is right to take on that next step that will challenge and push your professional development. Alternatively, you could have just graduated with a formal packaging qualification and are looking for that first step into the industry. Either way, we are looking for someone with sound technical knowledge of varying materials i.e. paper, flexible plastics and films. You will also understand the importance of sustainability and future initiatives that will lead to responsible and innovative packaging solutions.

Graphic design and familiarisation with adobe illustrator would be highly advantageous in this role. Confident communicating across different teams and a solution driven mind set will be the key to succeed in this role.
