Job Details
Our client based in London is searching for a Logistics Controller to join their exceptional Supply Chain team and be part of an ever-growing business.
Job Role
You will manage all UK transport requirements in and out of their warehouse and 3rd party warehouses. Ensuring all stock is entered onto their system accurately and delivered to their customers at the right place, at the right time, in the best condition, at the lowest cost possible. Liaising with over 6 transport companies, organising daily inbound deliveries to 4 sites daily and numerous outbound deliveries with pallet networks, haulage companies, retailers backhauling systems and parcel delivery companies. Also, to provide general support to the Purchasing and Logistics Department.
Responsibilities
• To organise all transport out of the company (customer orders, transfers to/from other warehouses) by liaising closely with the sales admin team and deal with any queries relating to our UK transport
• To make sure that they get the most competitive and reliable solutions for our UK transport
• To book all deliveries into their warehouse and 3rd party warehouses, ensuring the volumes and timings are in line with warehouse capacity and requirements
• To make sure that Order chasing spreadsheet and warehouse calendars are always up to date
• To check and process all UK transport and storage invoices in a timely manner
• To check and process all goods invoices in a timely manner and raise any query to the purchasing team
• To organise the sending of parcels from their company
• To ensure that the correct quantities are received in our warehouse and are entered onto SAGE with the correct information in a timely manner. Any issue needs to be raised promptly to the relevant purchasing executive
• CHEP account: Responsible for clearing our CHEP account on a weekly basis and order pallets as and when required
• To manage stock in third party warehouse and arrange deliveries fortnightly to ensure good stock levels are maintained
Personal Profile
• Experience in organising transport in the UK
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work and communicate confidently and collaboratively with external customers and internal colleagues
• Excellent organisational skills, being able to work on multiple tasks at the same time
• Able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
• High attention to detail
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• A positive “can-do” attitude and a desire to be part of a successful team
