About the Role:
As the Technical Manager, you will oversee the maintenance and enhancement of our Quality, Food Safety, and Product Integrity Management Systems. Your primary objective will be to ensure adherence to legal and customer standards, guaranteeing the delivery of safe, authentic, and superior-quality products to our customers and consumers. Additionally, you'll be instrumental in propelling our company forward, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a positive food safety and quality culture within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and ensure the implementation and compliance of technical and quality functions throughout the business.
- Ensure compliance with current legislation, industry standards, and customers' codes of practice.
- Manage and facilitate technical/quality visits and audits from customers/marketing groups, as well as maintain day-to-day technical relationships with customer technical teams.
- Maintain Food Safety, Product Integrity, Quality Management Systems, and Specifications.
- Foster a positive food safety and quality culture across all departments within the organization.
- Host external audits such as BRC and customer audits.
- Manage the internal audit schedule to verify compliance with HACCP Systems, Quality Management Systems, and legal/customer requirements.
- Lead and manage the HACCP Team, develop HACCP awareness within the business, and manage TACCP.
- Manage overall service levels, customer complaints, and rejections, including root cause analysis and corrective action plan completion.
- Oversee the document control system for the business.
- Manage supplier/contractor due diligence.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience food manufacturing environment, preferably in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge and experience in managing BRC food safety standards.
- Proven experience in leading and coordinating external audits, maintaining high compliance standards, and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Expertise in managing relationships with major retailers, including handling audits, product specifications, and technical queries.
