Position Overview:

The Production Manager will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production operations within the factory. This role involves managing production schedules, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, optimizing efficiency, and leading a team of production staff to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production plans and targets in alignment with overall company objectives.

Ensure that production processes are executed efficiently while maintaining high standards of product quality and safety. Collaborate with the Planning Department to develop and implement production schedules and workflow processes to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Monitor production metrics and KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and labour rates, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Work closely with the engineering department to ensure Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks are scheduled and completed on time, maximizing machinery uptime, and minimizing disruptions to production.

Lead and motivate production staff to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to production supervisors and frontline staff, including training, performance feedback, and professional development.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as quality assurance, maintenance, and supply chain, to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards for food safety and hygiene in collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager. Implement and enforce best practices for equipment maintenance, hygiene, and safety protocols in the production area.

Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to support production needs and minimize waste.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the production department to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and increase overall efficiency.

Prepare regular reports on production performance, including analysis of key metrics such as productivity, efficiency, OEE, and labour rates, to be presented to the Manufacturing Manager.
