About the Role:

Our site in Carlisle employs around 1,200 people and specialises in the production of a wide range of ready meals. 

It is a dynamic, fast-paced environment offering plenty of variety and opportunities for progression, and we’re now looking for two Quality Manager to join our Technical team. We have two vacancies available covering the following shift patterns:

  • Days (4 on/off, 0800-1800)
  • Nights (4 on/off, 1800-0800)

Reporting to the Technical Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing your team of Shift Technologists and Quality Controllers, working to ensure all food is produced to the agreed standards and specifications.
  • Ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are always adhered to, and that all colleagues are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Maintaining a robust system for documentation, from incoming materials through to finished product.
  • Investigating and incidents and non-conformance and putting corrective actions in place.
  • Being a key contact for customer and BRC audits.

About You:

  • Prior experience of leading a technical/quality team in a food manufacturing environment, preferably chilled foods.
  • Ideally educated to HND or Degree level in Food Science or similar, although this is not essential.
  • Advanced Food Safety and Intermediate HACCP qualifications.
  • Proactive and highly organised, able to prioritise a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communications skills, able to work well with colleagues at all levels.
