About the Role:

Our site in Carlisle is a complex operation, employing around 1,200 people across three factories.

A key part of our Meal Solutions division, it is where we produce a wide range of chilled ready meals for retail customers and we’re now looking for an experience Continuous Improvement / OPEX specialist to join us.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, this is a great opportunity to have a direct impact business performance – it is a high profile, where your influencing and change management experience will be essential, offering plenty of scope and variety and your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering the Operational Excellence agenda across the site, working to establish a CI/OPEX focused culture to drive improvements in areas such as growth, cost, waste, delivery, and quality.
  • Working closely with the senior team to support the site’s strategic priorities.
  • Identifying areas for improvement, from ‘quick wins’ to strategic level opportunities.
  • Maintaining a strong visible presence across the business, coaching, developing, and influencing colleagues at all levels. 
  • Leading and developing your team consisting of a CI Manager and CI Facilitator.

About You:

We’re looking for somebody with a strong track record in driving OPEX/CI improvements and we are keen to hear from anybody with the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable track record of leading operational excellence programmes across a complex Food, Drink or FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Able to not only demonstrate the changes you made, but how you made them and the impacts they had on culture, people, and performance.
  • People focused with excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence at all levels and engage with people to gain their ‘buy in’ and lead them through change.
  • Proactive in approach, able to plan and deliver multiple projects and initiatives to meet business objectives.
