Ready to Thrive in a Small Team?
As an experienced quality controller, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of produce from its arrival to its dispatch. The role requires working in cold temperatures, initially at 3 degrees Celsius, then increasing to 10 degrees Celsius from May. PPE is provided. Training, including hands-on experience, will be given, emphasising product procedures, and adjusting to the environment. You will be reporting to a supportive quality manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Your primary responsibility is to uphold exemplary standards of environmental hygiene throughout the production process.
- You will meticulously assess raw materials and finished products, generating comprehensive reports to ensure compliance with customer specifications and recognised marketing standards such as those set by the UK and EU.
- Additionally, you will carefully select and monitor shelf-life samples to guarantee product freshness and longevity.
- Beyond product assessment, you will also serve as a vigilant observer of hygiene practices across all operational areas, promptly reporting any deviations to maintain a sanitary environment.
The successful candidate should have 1 years’ experience in the fresh produce industry, good time management skills, and a good level of physical fitness due to the nature of the role. The working hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm. Furthermore, you are expected to possess a deep understanding of food safety culture, recognising its significance in safeguarding consumer well-being.
