Head of Technical

A new opportunity with a business who have a strong stance in the food industry, they have an exciting opportunity available taking the lead within the technical and food safety discipline of the business.

More than just technical you'll be the face of the department and with your personable approach, commercial acumen and high standards promoting their food safety and quality conscious culture.

You'll be an advocate of bringing teams together, maintaining and building customer relationships, champion of continuous improvement and of course passionate about food safety!

With the variety on a day to day basis within the food industry and especially Technical it is an exciting, sometimes challenging and busy department where no two days are the same.

You will be will be a strong leader with an approachable manner, solid technical and commercial acumen with confident communication skills and the technical interface for the site to the customer.

You skills and knowledge will add value and a real asset to the dynamics of the company.

Schedule and conduct Food Safety, HACCP Meetings
Overall responsibility for all tasks on BRC standards, Food Safety and third party accreditation
Manage pre-requisites for third party audits including facilities, staff training and compliance
Key contact for customer and suppliers for quality issues
Leader of the HACCP and Food Defence Team and maintain awareness of legislation with regards to the produces
Effective management and trending of internal audits, non-conformances, investigations and close out
Management of the QMS, delivering high standards of food safety and customer service
Delivering results within a set timescale and a champion of continuous improvement

Experience of the UK food manufacturing market plus audits such as BRC and third parties.
Intermediate or Advanced HACCP and a Food or Science related degree level will be desirable
