About the Specification Technologist job

The purpose of your role will be to manage the site specifications system; including continuous development, maintenance and improvement. It encompasses the whole process, from raw material to  finalised products ensuring legal and customer technical compliance.

Key tasks

• Writing of company and completion of customer’s own format specifications and development of the Integrity database.
• Management of the Suppliers and the Raw Materials data and updating and maintaining supplier SAQ information.
• Logging and management of non-conformances and internal auditing.
• Maintaining certification for both Halal, Kosher & and SEDEX and recipe management.
• Communicating with customers and other departments to ensure the customer has the key information they need, in a timely manner.

About You

The successful candidate will possess a food science degree or HND, with previous experience within a similar role and relevant food training. Knowledge of retailer standards would be beneficial.

• Exceptional organisational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Brilliant written and verbal literacy with great attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to prioritise work.
• Hold a clean UK Driver’s License with own vehicle essential.
• Excellent time management skills with a flexible approach to work independently, in a team and working calmly under pressure.

The Specification Technologist job is based in Somerset and paying a competitive salary.

The package includes Healthcare top-up scheme, death in service, discounts with major retailers, employee assistance programme, 5 weeks annual leave, entitlement increasing for each subsequent year of service one week’s additional notice (up to a maximum of twelve weeks).

The working hours are Monday - Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm and Fridays 9:00am-4.15pm.
