Technical Manager

Martin Mathew is an industry leading grocery importer & distributer. Established over 50 years, we supply an array of blue-chip companies in the UK, ranging from food service to wholesale.

We are looking for a Technical Manager to oversee the technical and product strategy. The role involves overseeing and managing all facets of the technical remit including team members, supplier management, customer technical requirements, NPD process flow including artwork and BRCGS maintenance.

Key skills required:

• Strong supplier management skills and be able to demonstrate a focused, attention to detail approach to their work.
• You will have at least 10 years’ experience in the food trading industry.
• Confident to communicate and influence across both internal and external stakeholders is pivotal to success in the role.
• To be solutions driven and have the ability to adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• You have an excellent food safety & preservation knowledge, including HACCP and BRCGS Regulation
• Internal quality management systems and lead auditing experience.
• Good IT skills across a range of Microsoft packages, customer online systems, and experience of specification portals.
• An eye for detail and desire to ensure exacting product and operational standards are maintained.
• Point of contact and action customer complaints requests and major issues
• UK driving licence is essential, with access to your own car.
• Degree level qualification in food related field.
• Office based role in Hertford, Hertfordshire.

Managing a close-knit team, you will be required to complete relevant technical documentation to ensure key milestones are met, as well as completing and maintaining all the required due diligence activities and records for our food products.
