About the Production Supervisor job

The purpose of your role will be to ensure the smooth running of the production environment, via the Production Teams. To ensure the manufacture of products that adhere to the high-quality standards expected by liaising with quality, health and safety, engineering and hygiene supervisors and managers.

Key tasks

• Monitor stock levels, material supply and material utilisation using SAP if required and ongoing monitoring of quality and efficiency standards.
• Be responsible for efficient utilisation of raw materials in their relevant department and highlighting any deviation from standard. Investigate customer complaints thoroughly and their root causes, complete accurate action logs in a timely manner and advise the production manager of issues that may affect quality or safety within the manufacturing areas.
• Responsible for Health and Safety of Production Operatives and understanding relevant health and safety requirements and carry out monthly risk assessments.  
• Work closely with the Quality team to ensure only the best quality products are manufactured and ensure that the production areas are maintained to a clean and hygienic standard.
• Complete relevant cost control documentation and manage labour costs through effective headcount allocation etc. Be involved in the interview process with potential new staff members and provide training and guidance.

About You

The successful candidate shall possess a minimum of a GCSE standard or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in people management or team leading, and at least 2 years team management experience in a production facility.

• Excellent verbal and written communication at all levels.
• Good level of numeracy and proficiency in IT particularly Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of SAP or similar warehouse management systems.
• A natural problem solver with effective outcomes.
• Self-efficient with own workload and an effective team contributor.

The Production Supervisor job is based in Lancashire and is paying c. £32,500 according to your experience.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm & 2:00pm – 10:00pm rotating weekly.
