About the Role:

The site in Carlisle employs around 1,200 people and specialises in the production of a wide range of ready meals and accompaniments for major retail customers.

It is a dynamic, fast-paced environment offering plenty of variety and opportunities for progression, and we’re now looking for a Quality Manager to join our Technical team.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing your team of Shift Technologists and Quality Controllers, working to ensure all food is produced to the agreed standards and specifications.
• Ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are always adhered to, and that all colleagues are aware of their responsibilities.
• Maintaining a robust system for documentation, from incoming materials through to finished product.
• Investigating and incidents and non-conformance and putting corrective actions in place.
• Being a key contact for customer and BRC audits.

About You:

• Prior experience of leading a technical/quality team in a food manufacturing environment, preferably chilled foods.
• Ideally educated to HND or Degree level in Food Science or similar, although this is not essential.
• Advanced Food Safety and Intermediate HACCP qualifications.
• Proactive and highly organised, able to prioritise a busy workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communications skills, able to work well with colleagues at all levels.
