About the Junior Product Developer / NPD Assistant job

The purpose of your role will be to oversee products from concept to launch in line with an agreed customer brief and critical path and to develop products.

Key tasks

• Be involved in NPD strategy and working with customer product briefs including presentations, participate in product tasting, check recipe accuracy, produce, and provide accurate supportive documentation.
• Create a recipe management system for new raw materials, nutritional information, raising anomalies as well as working within the NPD critical paths to help ensure projects stay on track for launch.
• Liaise closely with technical and commercial team to ensure all product development changes are reflected in key company processes.
• Assist with comparative shopping for seasonal events by visiting stores, collating information from retailer’s websites and where necessary buying samples of new products.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a food development /technology or nutrition degree and will have some experience in product development or food technology, either through an industrial placement or since graduating. Unfortunately, the company are unable to accept applications from people requiring a visa or sponsorship.

• A true passion for food and the industry and a strong understanding of consumer and market trends.
• An appreciation of what is required to develop high quality retail products.
• Excellent and efficient IT skills particularly Excel and Power point.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
• Takes initiative to see tasks through to completion with guidance from others.
• Capability to work under pressure and be flexible.

The Junior Product Developer / NPD Assistant job is based in South West London and is paying £28,000 to £30,000 per annum according to your experience.

The package includes 25 days holiday + bank holidays, pension.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week, hybrid working available one day a week.
