Concept Technologist

The Company

Are you a creative and tuned in Development professional who can turn new food trends into exciting new products? This company is growing year on year and are now seeking a Concept Technologist to help elevate the current and future product portfolio.

The Role

You will work as part of a dedicated NPD team, taking concepts from brief through to factory handover. In this hands-on role, you will be flexing your creative muscles within the chilled food realm, in a new purpose built development facility. This will include liaising with key customers to understand their requirements, timescales and budgets. You will work alongside your fellow NPD team, delve into new concepts, discover new trends and ingredients, as well as analyse gaps in the market and how they can be filled.

This is a fast-paced role, and you will be frequently liaising cross functionally with the process, production and marketing teams to ensure product capabilities are understood, and that budgets, quality and timescales are met.

You will be handling customer accounts as well as a handful of projects autonomously, so the ability to maintain and build rapport with key external and internal stakeholders is key. This will also come in the form of regular site visits, meetings and presentations to reveal and discuss new concepts and future steps to ensure launch success. There will also be elements of handling production paperwork and various documentation to ensure all aspects of the concept to launch process is accurate and on time.

The Person

We are looking for an ambitious food developer or food graduate who has completed a year in the food manufacturing industry, ideally within a chilled or fast-paced category. You will need to be incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about food, ingredients and trends. Experience being customer facing and liaising confidently with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as managing multiple projects is also key to succeeding in this role. A degree in food science, or related is also essential. Experience dealing with airline, travel or QSR customers in your previous or current NPD role would be desirable.
