About the Role:

We’re recruiting for a creative chef to join the NPD team at our site at Rogerstone Park, Newport. One of the largest and most advanced food manufacturing facilities in Europe, the site employs around 1600 people and has a turnover of £140m per year.

This role supports new and existing product development, from initial concept through to launch. It is a customer facing position, in which you'll be working with a creative mind to ensure 2SFG reputation is maintained for delivering first to market innovative foods.

In this varied role, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving the innovation agenda, continually enhancing the food values on site.
  • Working collaboratively with with our process, technical, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Developing strong relationships with our customers, specifically M&S chefs.
  • Regularly attending customer presentations, ensuring our products are aligned to strategy and help drive site and customer growth.

About you:

  • Strong chef background, with an eye for innovation and creativity and with a real passion for food
  • Prior food manufacturing experience and prior restaurant experience in either a Rosette or Michelin starred restaurant is essential
  • A ‘foodie’ with a commercial focus who can combine creativity with a complete understanding of full-scale production practicalities.
  • Innovative and challenging thinking
  • Strong ability to work under pressure, to tight timescales and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Self motivated and ambitious team player with strong communication skills
  • A natural flair and passion for food and knowledge across different cuisines and global flavours. A real love for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes.
  • A creative, innovative individual who inspires the team to achieve higher levels of culinary excellence
  • Presents facts, recipes and ideas clearly, accurately, confidently and persuasively to achieve effective communication across all levels of the business
