Operations Manager

The Company

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a high- performing challenger brand that create delectable products for foodie consumers who love to stretch their tastebuds but also care about nutrition and nature positive farming. This brand supplies a range provides products into the major retailers, OOH and direct to the consumer. On an inspiring journey to expand the volume and breadth of their business with new revenue streams in the works, they need a new addition to their team – a superstar in the making – an amazing, purchasing / supplier focused Operations Manager.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will be an integral part of the business and support the smooth running of the operation with a broad remit that covers purchasing, supplier sourcing and management, as well as delivering key projects for the business. You’ll be building strong partnerships with suppliers, reviewing and optimising prices, negotiating the best margins and ensuring that there is always enough inventory.

You’ll also source suppliers for fabulous new ingredients as well as packaging that delivers on functionality as well as sustainability. 

With the business growing at pace, you will need to be fully prepared with your impeccable forecasting skills when working with your suppliers. You will also work closely with the wider team to support with projects like launching new products or packaging formats as well as working with your manufacturing partner to optimise processes.

The Person

This position requires a bright and enthusiastic Operations professional who has purchasing / buying experience with the vision and ambition to help deliver the growth plans for this successful brand. You will need previous experience within the UK food manufacturing industry, ideally with a branded business, where you have gained an understanding of procurement and supplier management.

You will be able to demonstrate how you have delivered outside-the-box ideas to achieve success, understanding how to adapt your expertise into a high-growth business. Commercially minded, with an innovative approach and the ability to effectively manage, influence and engage key stakeholders at all levels. Your communication and organisation skills will be second to none as you’ll be in regular liaison with internal colleagues as well as a diverse customer and supplier base. Most importantly, you are keen to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and have the tenacity to drive solutions. 

Although this is a permanent position, it also be considered on a temp to perm basis.
