Head of Development

We are working exclusively with a family owned, growing ingredients manufacturer, who are searching for a Head of Development to lead their NPD team in Suffolk. They are growing at a significant rate with numerous new products launching every month into some of the biggest names in the food industry. As the Head of Development is a new position within the company, it gives you a vast scope to not only develop the team but also bed in best practice to ensure the company’s continued success. 

The person that will be successful as the Head of Development will be:

• Able to get hands on and stuck in

As a company, starting as a small family business they have seen continual year on year growth for the past 3 years, which has seen them expand to a dual location operation. This growth is not set to slow down any time soon which will broaden the remit of your role further! One of the keys to their success has been striving to meet and exceed demands of their trade partners and consumers with fantastic product quality, expert knowledge and best practice techniques.

The experience you will need will as the Head of Development:

• A strong background in food manufacturing, ideally within sauces or ready meals
• A history of leading teams as an NPD Manager or above
• Experienced with NPD systems
• The ability to demonstrate strong process knowledge 
• Having led sizeable NPD projects from concept to launch 
• Ideally you will have a strong understanding of CIMSCEE 

Some of the key responsibilities of the Head of Development include:

• Manage the innovation of new products and processes and lead NPD projects through to successful launch, ensuring there is a co-ordinated approach and projects fall within budget
• To recruit, lead and inspire direct reports to achieve personal development goals which also support business needs 
• Support the senior leadership team in developing the NPD strategy for the business in alignment with business strategy  
• Identify and progress ways of working, implementing best practice to support business growth and transform future and current NPD projects  

To the successful candidate they are offering circa £80,000 per annum.
