Procurement Support Team Member

Protea Recruitment is excited to work with a rapidly expanding food manufacturer looking for support within its procurement team on a hybrid basis. We are looking for individuals with experience working within a procurement team, preferably with Food Manufacturing experience, but FMCG is essential. 

Job Title: Procurement Support Team Member

Salary:  £28k to £32k Neg Doe

Shifts: Monday to Friday, Hybrid options available

The ideal candidate will oversee identifying and fulfilling the company's material requirements, including items like packaging, films, and plastics. They will establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating optimal prices, minimum order quantities, and delivery schedules. Furthermore, they will handle requisition processing and keep the team informed about order statuses and any supply chain risks.

This position includes coordinating end-of-month stock takes and preparing valuations for the finance department. The candidate will ensure continuous material availability by utilising a rolling forecast and aligning procurement with fiscal year goals. Collaborating with various departments is essential for maintaining smooth operations and a thorough understanding of business needs.

Responsibilities also include updating inventory systems, keeping precise records, and managing stock levels to avoid shortages, especially with long lead times. The candidate will organize international shipments, track orders to guarantee timely delivery, and manage critical tasks and urgent stock requirements through to completion, including the status of goods received notes. Exceptional attention to detail is a key requirement for this role.

Key Requirements

• Full UK rights to work status is essential for this role.
• Food/ FMCG manufacturing experience is essential.
• Ability to work on-site 3 days per week is preferred.
